This quick hat is the perfect crochet hat pattern for fall. It takes no more than one skein of Lion Brand Landscapes yarn and a 6.5 mm crochet hook. Pair your finished hat with the Connie Cowl for a pulled together look!

Supplies:
Chunky Yarn – 130yds
(Options: Lion Brand Landscapes – 1 skein Desert Spring,
Plymouth Yarn Gina Chunky – 1 skein Color 0109)
Crochet Hook – Size J/10/6.5 mm
Notes/Special Stitches:
FSC (foundation single crochet)- ch 2, insert hook in to 2nd ch from hook, pull up loop, ch 1 (place marker), yo, pull through both loops on hook (first fsc made). *Insert hook into marked ch making sure to go under the left 2 loops, yo, pull up a loop, ch 1 (move marker to this ch), yo, pull through both loops on hook. Rep from * until desired fsc length is reached. You may find you do not need to continue using the marker once you are comfortable making the stitch.
Instructions:
Row 1– 60 fsc. Being careful not to twist foundation, join with sl st to top of 1st fsc made.
Row 2– Do not turn. Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout),
2 dc in same st, ch 1, sk 3 st, *3 dc in next st, ch 1, sk 3 st, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 3-dc clusters)
Row 3– Turn. Sl st into ch-1 sp. Ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, sk 3 st, *3
dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk 3 st, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 3-dc clusters)
Row 4– Do not turn. Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in each st and ch-1 sp around. Join with sl st to top of t-ch. (60 hdc)
Row 5– Turn. Sl st in next hdc, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, ch 1, sk 3 st,
*3 dc in next st, ch 1, sk 3 st, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 3-dc clusters)
Row 6–11 Rep Rows 3 thru 5 two times
Row 12– Turn. Sl st into ch-1 sp. Ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, sk 3 st, *3 dc
in next ch-1 sp, sk 3 st, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 3-dc clusters)
Row 13– Do not turn. Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of t-ch. (45 hdc)
Row 14– Turn. Sl st in next hdc, ch 3, dc in same st, sk 2 st, *2 dc in next st, sk 2 st, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 -dc clusters)
Row 15– Turn. Sl st into space before first 2-dc cluster, ch 3, *dc between next 2-dc cluster, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 dc)
Row 16– Do not turn. Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in each st around. Join with sl st to top of t-ch. (15 hdc)
Finishing:
Fasten off leaving an 8 inch tail. Weave tail through tops of hdc and pull to close. Weave in ends.
