Hi Everyone,
I would like to share with you the first pattern I ever wrote. It’s a simple hat that uses two strands of yarn and a big hook which means it goes REALLY FAST. I can finish the beanie version in less than an hour! This is a great pattern for Christmas gifts for all of your friends. The best part is that each one only takes one skein of Red Heart Super Saver yarn, so it’s REALLY CHEAP too!
If you would rather have a brim, you can just add more rows before finishing off and make it as long as you would like. The sample shown here has a color fade, which is also included in the instructions.
This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download or add it to your queue. If you would prefer to buy a crochet beanie that is already made, please check out my Etsy shop to see what is available.

To fade into another color: On the fourth to last rnd, switch one of the strands of your main color to your coordinating color for that rnd and the next. On the second to last rnd, switch the other strand of your main color to your coordinating color for that rnd and the last rnd.
To add a fold up brim, continue rep rnd 6 until you have a total of 17 rnds.
You can mix and match colors and change the length of brim to make it work for just about any one. With such a quick pattern, you’ll be done with your Christmas list in no time.
This pattern has been tested by others, but please let me know if you find any mistakes. Thanks 🙂
